Macaroni Kid – FireAvert Home Fire Protection

Updated: Jun 20, 2023

Designed and made by firefighters

Peace of mind, that is what FireAvert has brought to my household! It is tricky to review a product when you want it to do its job, but don’t ever want it to have to do its job. Not sure you get my drift? Yeah, tough to word this one. I have my FireAvert plugged in and ready in the event of a fire. If enough smoke were to occur in my house to set off the smoke detector, I have peace of mind knowing that FireAvert will automatically turn off the power to my stove helping to prevent a fire. So, I don’t want it to have to work, but I’m glad to know it is there and will in the event of trouble. It was easy to install and only took minutes to get it all hooked up.

Cooking is relaxing fun that brings families and friends together, but it’s also the number one cause of home fires and injuries. Every year, U.S. fire departments respond to an average of 162,400 home structure fires involving cooking equipment. These fires cause an average 5,400 civilian injuries and $1.1 billion in property damage. Cooking equipment is involved in 45% of reported home fires and unattended equipment is the leading cause of cooking fires of over 54% of non-fatal civilian cooking fire injuries when the victims try to fight the fire themselves.*

FireAvert quickly turns a stove into a smart stove to keep families, seniors and homes safe. FireAvert is the only product that prevents kitchen fires before they happen, by turning off stoves when smoke is detected. Because there is always smoke before a fire, FireAvert is activated by a smoke alarm sounding and cuts the power to the stove and oven immediately before there is a flame.

FireAvert is especially important for seniors, who are twice as likely to leave a stove on. By preventing fires before they happen, FireAvert gives seniors, their children and their caretakers more peace of mind that the seniors will be safe on their own when cooking.
